My training as a performer began young with theatre programs in Long Beach, California. I then trained at the elite Orange County High School of the Arts in theatre and musical theatre and eventually earned a four-year scholarship to the Ray Bolger Musical Theatre Program at the University of California, Los Angeles.  I was also honoured to receive scholarships from both the Carol Burnett (for musical comedy) and the Steve and Eddie Gorme Trust.

I was trained by and have worked with many Broadway veterans in regional theatres throughout Southern California, performing in plays, musicals, and solo performances. For my performance in the West Coast premier of the one-man drama, Johnny Got His Gun, at Hollywood Stages Theater Center, I received a Backstage Garland Award (the show also received nominations for Best Revival from LA Drama Critics Circle and LA Weekly). I have also appeared in several national television commercials and two soap operas.

During my doctoral studies at Royal Holloway, I developed a show called Cancerous.biz. This multi-media performance explores, among other things, a personal cancer diagnosis (now cured) and the journey it took me through healthcare systems of the UK and US. It raises difficult questions about economic and political policies which sometimes determine who lives and who dies. Thankfully, I am now cured and in top health, but I intend to further develop the project for community enrichment and patient empowerment. Aiding this, the show was recently awarded funding from The Next Stage Entrepreneurial programme at Royal Holloway.
